Hopefully, if you were on the lookout for a new Switch 2, you could get one during the launch day festivities! Alongside the release, Nintendo released a few new titles as well as Switch 2 updates to those titles. Most importantly, for me, the new Switch 2 update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is here!
Nintendo just pushed out a performance and visual update that takes full advantage of the Switch 2’s newer hardware. It’s all about making your Paldea adventures smoother, sharper, and more immersive — and the best part? It’s totally free.
Here’s what’s new:
- Visual enhancements across both the handheld display and big-screen mode on 4K TVs.
- Improved frame rates so exploring and battling feel noticeably smoother.
- A more vibrant and alive Paldea that makes the world pop even more as you complete your Pokédex or take on Tera Raids.
If you’ve got Pokémon Scarlet or Violet and a Switch 2, download the update now — no cost, just better gameplay. I am glad that Pokémon isn’t charging an update fee for this. While there won’t be anything new added to the game, the gameplay experience is light years better!
If you do not have the game, you can pick up today $59.98 for Switch 1 and 2! All this is gearing us up for the eventual release of Pokémon Legends Z-A, which you can pre-order today for Switch 2 for 69.99 or pre-order for Switch 1 for $59.99
