Now under one month before the official release date, Nintendo has officially reveled all of the new user icons it is introducing for Switch 2. As part of today’s update in the official new Nintendo Today! app on iOS and Android.
Nintendo reveals all-new user icons for Switch 2
While this is not the new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game release we are all waiting for as part of the holiday release wave – Nintendo is rumored to have a 3-wave plan set for new Switch 2 game releases and we haven’t heard all that much about the holiday block just yet, there are some sweet new icons inbound.
Nintendo had 147 user icons to choose from on Switch, but we now know that number is getting increased significantly to 258 icons, and that sounds like it’s just the launch choices.
As I’m sure you’re expecting, there are loads of icons representing all of Nintendo’s biggest franchises and mascots, from the world’s most famous plumber right through to icons from The Legend of Zelda, and others. Some new additions include a series of Pokemon characters as well as some iconography from ARMS – I wonder if there’s a sequel of some sort in the works for Switch 2 on this one.
Nintendo hasn’t confirmed there will be other icons available through the Switch Online app, but if it’s anything like Switch 1, there certainly will be.
Here’s a quick look at just some of the 258 new Switch 2 user icons that will up for grabs come June 5 on launch day:
