Amazon has dropped the latest AirPods Pro 2 back down to the lowest price of the year at $169, but we are expecting the new AirPods Pro 3 later this year. But after Apple skipped out on updating the Pro set in 2024 in favor of the new AirPods 4, its latest base-model set appears to be safe until a 2026 update at this point. With that in mind, we wanted to highlight the price drop on the latest series 4 Apple buds that are now starting down at the $99 Amazon low.
Last fall, alongside the iPhone 16 and black Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple decided to drop two tiers of the latest AirPods 4 – one with active noise cancellation at an expected $179 list price alongside the base model set without ANC at a more more affordable $129.
The previous AirPods 3 launched with a $179 list and were followed up by a version without a wireless charging case at $169. That means the current AirPods 4 you can score on sale in brand-new condition down at $99 on Amazon right now are indeed the most affordable point of entry in the AirPods game we have seen in several years at this point.
Could we see them go for less later this year? Well of course, anything could go for less, but at this point the $99 list is the lowest we have tracked in brand-new condition from a well-known online retailer on any set of current AirPods in quite some time.
